Lecture -- Mary Baker Eddy and Christian Science
LLI-3-248

Official Program Description

Born in 1821, Mary Baker Eddy endured years of ill health before being healed of a serious injury while reading her Bible. This marked her discovery of the metaphysical system she named Christian Science. For the next 45 years, Eddy worked tirelessly to re-establish primitive Christian healing as practiced by Jesus. Despite many obstacles encountered by women in 19th-century America, Eddy proved to be a remarkable healer, teacher, and preacher. Her textbook on Christian Science, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, was first published in 1875 and is still a best-seller in its genre. The American Women’s Book Association has named Mary Baker Eddy one of 75 women “whose words have changed the world.”
